Reliable Transfer in Marine Conditions

Marine loading arms, supplied by Techcom Serwis, are a key element of port and marine terminal infrastructure, enabling the safe and efficient transfer of a wide range of liquid and gaseous media between the quay and ships or barges. We offer arms from leading global manufacturers, designed to work in demanding marine conditions, ensuring tightness and long-term reliability.

We understand the specifics of marine operations, which is why the arms we supply are characterized by a robust construction, corrosion resistance, and are equipped with advanced safety systems, such as Emergency Release Couplings (ERC), compliant with OCIMF guidelines.

Main Features and Configurations of Marine Arms

The marine arms in our offer can be adapted to various needs:

  • Supported media: Crude oil, petroleum products (gasoline, diesel, heating oil), chemicals, LPG, LNG, industrial gases, and others.
  • Configurations: Depending on the range, type of quay, and supported vessels.
  • Control systems: Hydraulic or electromechanical control systems enabling precise positioning of the arm.
  • Safety systems: Emergency Release Couplings (ERC), PERC systems (Powered Emergency Release Coupler), position monitoring systems, locks.
  • Diameters and materials: Wide range of diameters (e.g., from 6" to 24") and construction materials (carbon steel, stainless steel, materials for low-temperature operation) selected for the specifics of the application.

Technical Specifications and Standards

The marine arms we supply are designed and built in accordance with international standards and guidelines, such as:

  • OCIMF - (Oil Companies International Marine Forum) - Design and Construction Specification for Marine Loading Arms.
  • ASME B31.3 - Process Piping.
  • Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC.
  • ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU (for applications in hazardous areas).
  • Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) 2014/68/EU (if applicable).
  • Other industry standards and client specifications.

Key technical parameters, such as operating envelope, materials, seals, design pressure, and temperature, are selected individually for each project.

FAQ - Marine Arms

An ERC (Emergency Release Coupler) is a key safety element of marine loading arms. In the event of an emergency, uncontrolled movement of the ship away from the quay (e.g., mooring lines break), the ERC system automatically disconnects the arm from the ship's manifold, while simultaneously closing the valves on both sides of the disconnection to prevent product leakage.

The OCIMF guidelines specify detailed requirements for the design, construction, materials, safety systems, testing, and documentation of marine loading arms, aimed at ensuring the highest level of safety and reliability of transfer operations in ports.
